Movement for Voice Workshops 2020

A Practical Course – for Physiotherapists

Proudly in association with Physios in Sport and Pure Sports Medicine

Do you work with professional voice users and performing artists? Are you looking to expand your skills and help your artists achieve a more sustainable, high-quality voice?

Join us for Vocal Physical Therapy for the Performance Voice, a three-day, hands-on course designed to equip you with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed for the musculoskeletal evaluation and treatment of the professional larynx.

After this interactive course you will have a deeper understanding of the anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the laryngeal mechanism and how muscular and postural factors impact voice production. Upon completion of the practical sessions you will have a greater understanding in assessing the larynx and perilaryngeal region to guide your management choices.

Practical manual technique sessions will teach you how to use safe manual techniques to treat and manage your assessment findings and alleviate the muscular and myofascial components.

This course will teach you how to:

  • Effectively evaluate and treat the musculoskeletal components of the professional and performing artist’s larynx.
  • “Unload” the larynx to improve vocal efficiency and ease.
  • Enhance a singer’s range and quality for a more sustainable voice.

Use these hands on techniques to “tune up” the performance voice to help your clients achieve their full vocal potential.
