Why Join This Course?

Comprising of three modules taught over two weekends. These practical modules are for physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors and enable you to treat the musculoskeletal aspects of throat pain, voice dysfunction, and anterior neck dysfunction. In addition, you will develop skills to enhance the performance voice.

All modules build on each other. As a result, by course completion you will be competent with:

  • Applying manual therapy skills – foundation laryngeal mobilisation
  • Intra-oral manual therapy skills – tongue, soft palate and more
  • Clinical reasoning to understand why you are using certain techniques (and when!)
  • Management plans for common voice dysfunctions
  • Management plans for the performance and singing voice

Course Structure

Module 1: Foundations of Voice

Module 2: The Challenging Larynx (voice and throat pain)

Module 3: The Performance Voice

Module 1 is conducted over two days; it lays the foundation for the rest of the training and is a pre-requisite for Module 2 & 3

Module 2 & 3 are conducted over two days together (completion of Module 1 is a prerequisite).

Who is this course for?

This course suits any manual therapist interested in the larynx, anterior cervical spine, and voice. Therefore, the techniques are appropriate for Physios, Osteos, and Chiropractors.

Should I book all three modules?

Yes! Absolutely. Module 1 provides you wtih the foundations so that you can start treating Muscle Tension Dysphonia and musculoskeletal voice/throat discomfort immediately. In addition, Module 2 & 3 layer in additional in depth techniques exploring the role of intraoral techniques. By the end of the four days, you will have practical and clinically applicable tools. Importantly, you will also save over $400 by booking the early bird bundle 🙂

What should I wear?

Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing or a singlet (spaghetti straps) so that we can assess your neck and upper quadrant. Please ensure your nails are filed and buffed for safety and hygiene.
