Courtney Horton (He/Him) is a passionate physiotherapist with a strong interest in dance and performance physiotherapy.
Courtney received his Bachelor of Applied Science – Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney. Alongside his physiotherapy experience, he uses 10 years of professional dance training and 20 years of experience in dance and his clinical mind to provide the highest quality of care to his patients. He has been fortunate enough to work as a physiotherapist on shows including Cinderella, Tina Turner, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Magic Mike Aus, Hamilton, West Side Story and with Opera Australia.
Courtney’s passion for injury management began as a dancer by rehabilitating his own injuries and watching his colleague’s recovery and rehabilitation. He became increasingly curious about how he could contribute to the longevity of a dancers career and decided to study physiotherapy to facilitate that dream.
Courtney has a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Dance from New World School of the Arts/University of Florida. Courtney danced for many independent choreographers such as Christopher Rudd and performed across the USA in companies such as RudduR Dance, Brooklyn Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet Company of Long Island, Continuum Contemporary Ballet, Willow Oak and more. Courtney was selected to be part of the Merce Cunningham Trust – Dance Fellowships in NYC and was the recipient of a scholarship to the prestigious Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival Contemporary Program during their 80th anniversary.
When he isn’t in the clinic, Courtney enjoys returning to the studio for a boogie, tending to his garden, and spending time with his family.
