Cecilia Mizzi (she/her) is a physiotherapist, strongly passionate in treating and preventing musculoskeletal injuries in performance sports, as well as low back and neck pain.
She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters of Physiotherapy and is a fully certified DMA (Dance Medicine Australia) Clinical Pilates Instructor. With a Bachelor Degree in Sport and Exercise Science and extensive experience with competitive and professional dance (nationally and internationally). She truly understands the pressure and the physiological demand required for elite sports, working with professional and recreational athletes in various sports including rugby league, the junior touch football state cup and various Sydney musicals. Her expertise in identifying movement dysfunction, desire to educate and empower patients, alongside her manual therapy skills and aptitude for exercise prescription, permits an all-inclusive approach to treatment for a variety of injuries.
Cecilia has always had a strong focus towards continued professional development and broadening her clinical knowledge. Currently she is studying a Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy / Masters of High Performance Sports. Cecilia is also trained in the McKenzie Method (MDT), and intends to be a Certified McKenzie Therapist in the near future.
Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Cecilia was a professional dancer. Her performing arts background entails a certificate IV in Performing Arts as a scholarship student at ED5 International. She also is a recreational violinist and was part of the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
When Cecilia isn’t in the clinic you can usually find her on an outdoor adventure, roller blading, surfing, hanging out with family, friends and Slinky, her dachshund.
